At the time Anne Warr was an architect and the Manager of Heritage at Sydney City Council. For several years she was the Manager of Heritage Design Services within the Buildings Branch of the Department of Public Works and Services. She was also a member of the Heritage Council's Technical Advisory Group. In 1989 she completed her Master's thesis on History and Conservation . The paper presented is given in response to a growing appreciation of the importance of corrugated iron in Australian culture, and a desire amongst practitioners to understand appropriate ways of preserving and conserving the material.
