The measured and photographic recording of this building was carried out as an independent survey by the author, with the support of Tees Archaeology.

At the time of the survey the building was not under any planning or conservation constraints, nor was it under threat of demolition. Recording was carried out following RCHME Level 3 report guidelines and in accordance with the relevant SCAUM Health & Safety procedures.

Permission to record the building was kindly provided by the pastor, Mr. Mark Garbutt. Access to the rear and interior of the building was provided by Mr. Les Williamson during his regular weekly maintenance visits and which were of approximately two hours duration. Mr. Williamson also provided much additional background information on the later history of the church.

The survey was carried out principally by the author with occasional assistance from Mrs. Claire Green. Measurements were taken using a variety of hand-held, open-reel and telescopic tapes; photographic recording was carried out using 35mm SLR cameras kindly provided by Tees Archaeology. The final illustrations were produced by Ms. Margaret Finch, Tees Archaeology's Illustrator, from the author's original drawings and photographs.
